What to Bring? What to wear?
I have sticky mats to get you started if you need one, but you should eventually buy your own. You will need it for home practice, and for hygenic reasons it is better to use your own mat. A cotton mat spread over a sticky mat is ideal for astanga practice.
Wear something comfortable, light and easy to move in. Astanga is a hot practice. Shorts and a small top are appropriate, or leggings and a T-shirt if you prefer. The studio is well heated, so you only need jumpers, etc. for coming and going.


How to get to Seven Winds Yoga?
Seven Winds Yoga is located at Longford House, 21 Lanesville, Monkstown, Co. Dublin. Lanesville is off Monkstown Ave., accessible by the 46A bus (2 min. walk) or the Salthill/Monkstown Dart (10-15 min walk). If you are driving, Lanesville can be approached from two directions.

If you are coming from the Blackrock direction, follow the Rock Rd. past the Blackrock & Frascati shopping centres. Turn left onto Monkstown Rd. (It is the left turn just after the one marked “Coast Rd, Dun Laoghaire.) Follow Monkstown Rd. into the village. In the centre of the village, you will see a large church. Turn right in front of the church and immediately turn left. (You have to turn left here, it is the only way to go.)You are now on Carrickbrennan Rd. The large church is on your left, another church is on your right. Follow this road to the roundabout. (The roundabout with the “castle”) Take the last exit off the roundabout. This puts you onto Monkstown Avenue. You will pass a field & fitness centre on your left. Continue along Monkstown Ave. and turn left onto Lanesville. Lanesville is the left turn just after Monkstown Farm. It is the last left before you get to the next roundabout. Longford House is a small white house on the left, just across from the new apartment complex. The yoga studio is in the garden, access from the lane along the right side of the house.

From the Stillorgan dual-carriage way, you can take the exits for either Newtownpark Ave. or Kill Lane. From Newtownpark Ave., follow along until the road ends in a T-junction. Turn right at that junction, then turn left onto Stradbrook Rd. Follow Stradbrook to the large roundabout at the top of the hill. Take the first exit off this roundabout. This puts you onto Monkstown Ave. Take the first right onto Lanesville.

If you are coming along Kill Lane, continue past Deansgrange to Bakers Corner (the pub). Turn left at Bakers Corner onto Abbey Rd. Follow along until you get to the large roundabout. Take the last exit. This puts you onto Monkstown Ave. (See directions above for details from here.)

Parking:
Please try to park as soon as you turn onto Lanesville, along either wall where there are no driveways. Otherwise, park at the far end of the street where it is wider. Please avoid parking on the footpath in front of the new apartments, as the street is narrow and neighbours in the houses cannot get into their driveways when cars are parked there. Much thanks!
