Light and Breath: Shakti Rasa Retreat

Friday 8 June to Sunday 10 June, 2018
Cliffs of Moher Retreat Centre

Welcome in the Summer Solstice!

Walk with the light . . . the theme of this weekend and the message of summer!  Yoga practice invites us to open our hearts to the light, clearing our minds, invigorating our bodies, uplifting our souls.

Join me for a weekend of deep yoga and meditation. Discover too how the wild mystical landscape of this most sacred part of the earth can facilitate our yogic journey.

You will have plenty of time to de-stress in your own way too. Curl up with a good book. Take off into the wilderness. Pamper yourself with a treatment or soak in the hot tub.

I teach a style of asana practice rooted in the tradition of Krishnamacharya. It incorporates deep awareness of the breath through both flowing sequences and held poses. With attention to alignment and adaptation to individual needs, it is a practice accessible to everyone, from beginners to seasoned yogis.

As a teacher of yoga philosophy and history for many years, I welcome questions of all kinds. The weekend will include time for open-ended discussion, aimed at understanding our yoga practice in terms of the bigger picture of human experience.

You will go home not only renewed and invigorated, but also radiant with light, so that yogic peace and harmony can infuse every aspect of your life.

This Weekend includes:

  • Shakti Rasa Yoga classes morning and evening
  • Invigorating asana in the morning
  • Restorative asana in the evening
  • Pranayama and Meditation
  • Nature Walks, free time, hot tub and sauna
  • Delicious vegetarian food

My Hymn to Surya:
The blue light of morning holds a promise. The ancient rishis knew that. But don’t just believe it, investigate for yourself. It is happening for me right now in a most serendipitous way. My effort to protect my garden here in Sardinia from wild pigs has me up each morning well before dawn, inspecting the results . . .  (read more)
