"Thank you so much for the beautiful reading. I have listened to the recording a number of times, and each time I do, I hear something different, or something else drops a level in my understanding. I was so inspired by your knowledge and clarity that I have signed up to study with you on your philosophy course.” - Fiona C

Jyotish for Yogis: Intensive Course

“A child is born on that day and at that hour when the celestial rays are in mathematical harmony with her individual karma.”  Sri Yukteswar

This Year-long Intensive Course involves deep immersion into the world view that shaped the mind of ancient India. You’ll learn the foundational principles of Jyotisha, which unlock the key to a unique psychological understanding . . .of your own life path and of those individuals you want to understand better. You’ll delve into the profound synchronicity between karma, personal psychology, and patterns of cosmic light. You’ll also experience the sustained joie de vivre that comes with regular spiritual practice. Jyotisha in itself is sadhana, and Yoga Sadhana features prominently in the course.

Though many will opt to do this course for personal reasons—for the depth of understanding and transformational potential it offers—the course can also serve as the first step towards professional qualification as a Vedic Astrologer through the Council of Vedic Astrology, the largest and oldest Vedic Astrology organisation in the West, with close ties to India.

Class size is limited so you’ll receive personal attention throughout the year and feel the support of spiritual friends in a sangha environment. From September through May, the course consists of three 4-day modules in Dublin, six on-line Conference Classes, personal spiritual counselling sessions, and much guided reading and studying.

The course culminates with a 16-day residential retreat in Sardinia in late May/early June. Close to sea and earth, to the nourishment of sunshine and the peace of the starry night sky, your knowledge of Jyotish will consolidate and deepen. And your yoga practice will increase in strength, stamina, steadiness and sukha. Invigorated by the authentic yogic lifestyle this retreat offers, you’ll complete the course elevated to a whole new level of spiritual understanding and experience.

What this course gives you:

  • Year-long immersion into Vedic Astrology (Jyotisha) and authentic Yoga Sadhana
  • Small class size (maximum 6)
  • Lecture/discussion on the entire CVA Visharada Syllabus, the fundamentals of Vedic Astrology
  • Practice analysing the charts of famous people
  • In-depth understanding of your own chart
  • Intensive Yoga Practice of asana, pranayama, meditation and chanting
  • Individualised support in committing to regular home yoga practice
  • Personal spiritual guidance throughout the year
  • A 16-day Residential Retreat in Sardinia for intensive work with both Jyotish and Yoga, along with enough free time to enjoy the beaches, sunshine and beautiful natural setting!
  • Choice  between professional and non-professional tract for Jyotish
  • A certificate of completion for those studying for personal reasons
  • A Diploma with 200 hours* of CVA certified training for those studying for a professional qualification. The diploma requires successful completion of additional written work and a final exam

*(Note: Visharada Certification with CVA requires 600 hours and a CVA qualifying exam. After this 200-hour course, those wishing to pursue certification can gain those additional hours and exam preparation through mentoring with Marianne.)

Latest Blog: “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing,” my Jyotish mentor warned me. Just like in the parable of the blind man and the elephant, you can’t know the whole from touching only a tiny part. When I first discovered Vedic Astrology, I knew I’d found a subject to challenge me for the rest of my life. The more I continue to investigate it, the more complex and astonishing it becomes. Truly, this learning has no end, because “the mood of God”, read on
