Kirtan Yoga

Dates: Friday 18 November & Friday 16 December
Time:  6.30 - 9.30 pm

With Richard Stone, Kirtan singer, facilitating.

Come experience the joy of Bhakti, the most beautiful path of yoga!  Kirtan is powerfully uplifting. In singing the names of God, the power of those divine vibrations expands the heart, bringing peace, joy and happiness to all.

Come experience the joy of Kirtan! Everyone is welcome. Bring your partners, friends, children. No experience with yoga or singing is necessary.

The wonderful Kirtan yogi and teacher, Richard Stone, leads the evening, bringing his guitar and harmonium and inspiring everyone with his open heart and relaxed, engaging presence. Richard makes everyone feel comfortable, so do not worry if you are new to kirtan. The power of this practice is accessible to all! For more about Richard, see http://www.dublin.ie/websites/oneness/default.asp

Plan to arrive from 6.30. After greeting and settling, the singing starts at 7.00 sharp! It finishes at 9.00, after which we relax, socialize and share Prasad together in the positive vibrations we have created.

Prasad is sacred food, prepared with love and devotion, offered first to the gods and then consumed, also with love and devotion--and joy!  Prasad is deeply nourishing. Even though traditionally made with lots of sugar and butter, prasad nourishes the soul, and so the body benefits likewise.

Please bring some small food item to share as Prasad. A handful of something special is appropriate, enough to share with a couple of people. (Nuts, chocolate, fruit, finger food) If you have an instrument you play, bring it along too if you like.

For those new to Seven Winds Yoga, see contact page for directions.

Cost for the evening:

€15, paid at arrival
€5 unwaged
free for children under 12 years of age

Kirtan is a beautiful part of the yoga tradition. It belongs to the path of Bhakti Yoga, the way of devotion. Sound is one of the oldest, deepest and most powerful forms of practice. The ancient rishis of Vedic times as well as yoga masters and sages throughout the ages used sound as a vehicle of transformation. Today we chant the divine mantras and chants of the various deities--Krishna, Rama, Shiva, Durga, Ganesha, Hanuman . . . each one a unique expression of the Divine Oneness, each a portal to that divinity which is our own true nature. Through devotional singing, the sacred vibrations resonate through us, so that we too vibrate with the same frequency, quite literally dissovling and merging into that Divine Oneness which is everything.

Om Shanti
